Golf is available as a 9 hole "pay and play" at Waterbridge , or at Crediton , Okehampton and Chumleigh offer full courses.

For those interested in wildlife and walking Lower Chilverton is situated within easy reach of both of Devon’s National Parks. Dartmoor is to the south and Exmoor is to the north west.


A little over an hour away you can visit the world famous Eden Project . It hosts many events throughout the year, is known as an education centre and a wonderful place for concerts.

For those wanting to visit houses and gardens Devon and Cornwall have many National Trust places to visit.

Closer to Lower Chilverton you can visit the Devon Traditional Breed Centre in Crediton, Bickleigh has both a privately owned castle open to the public, the Baden-Powell maze and Yearlstone Vineyard whose wines originally were made at Lower Chilverton. Tiverton also has a castle and a canal or have fun at Diggerland near Cullompton.

The Tarka Trail, made famous by the book Tarka the Otter passes very nearby and stretches for around 180 miles around the county. There is a train ride or take a walk for part of the trail . Otters, whilst still rare are sometimes seen by walkers in the area these days.

For those wanting to venture into cities, Exeter has a Cathedral , the Royal Albert Museum , the Guildhall , the Quay and more things to do .Plymouth offers the Hoe , an Aquarium , the Barbican , the Theatre Royal and the Royal Dockyard as well as further attractions.
